I am surprised that teams in the NAHL charge for their final tryout camp. In the SJHL and the WHL they do not charge. The SJHL charges for spring camp, but not for their Fall camps.

It is a big money maker though if you do charge.

me being from Canada had no idea about the AARP thing. I read it as being a real life problem that is happening more and more. Family is a disappearing thing all across North America and we need to do something about this. It is hard to weigh family and work because without work the family can become more stressed. I take this video as something to think about in this sense. To me it does not point to health care in any way for me other than lets look after our family.
real life which Hockey can help us out with with lessons learned from the great game of hockey

The AARP who sponsored this video clip received millions of dollars from the stimulus package to promote health care reform (Obama Care). They did so with a great deal of deceit. For example, they stand to benefit financially from the reforms passed, yet they have denied this publically. I believe the Obama Care does not promote freedom. In fact it does just the opposite. AARP helped get it passed, and a sappy video will not change that fact. Let’s stick to hockey on this blog.

I like the concept, I just finished giving my PeeWee A team a handout on the Penalty Kill followed by an on ice session that went really well. they also had some PK homework to complete prior to the on ice session.
We use the 'T' as a forecheck and it works very well. Once this is a learned skill we can add more from there. We also use this as a basic way to fore-check and add forechcecking skills as needed.
I could send you the handout on the PK if you would like.

Thanks,

Article makes sense. I even as a Female Midget coach from last season did close to what they were Stating. Work on skating (lots of edge drills) and I like to have pucks in 95% of my drills. My drills I try to keep the standing around to a minimum.

In Lethbridge we start with the young players in TimBits and they do not call offsides. It has not cause any problems when they do get to the league that does as the coaches for the most part can teach it early in the season with a skating drills.

Stationary regroup dril....Defensemen stay stationary - they try to pass it to their set of forwards (this forces the forwards to get open for a pass). Once they make a successful pass, those forwards who just got the puck give the puck to the other D, and try to cover the opposing forwards.

Hope this helps :)
