Passing/ Skating/ 1 on 1

Diagrams

Description

D1 skates and passes the puck to F1 who starts skating up the ice as well.

D1 continues to skate forward then piviots around cone and skates backwards into a 1 on 1

F1 receives pass and skates forward around cone and forward all the way to the net and shoots.

D2 and F2 repeat the same drill going the opposite direction.

Notes: Make sure there is not a big gap between D1 and F1. D1 and F1 need to be going around the cone about the same time. This drill is very helpful with teaching gap control for the D.
