Facing Off with New Jersey Devils LW Zach Parise (PA SportsTicker) 10/06/08

PA SportsTicker recently obstructed New Jersey Devils left wing Zach Parise and held him long enough to ask the following questions:

It's one thing finishing your season by not getting out of the first round of the playoffs. It's another thing altogether when your exit is authored by your biggest rival.

That's what the Devils are coming back from as they look to erase the pain of a five-game, first-round ouster at the hands of the New York Rangers last spring.

So, when the teams got together for a preseason game in Newark, it meant something to New Jersey, and the Devils were happy with the 3-2 win.

"This is still a rivalry," Zach Parise said after scoring two goals in the game. "I don't care if it's preseason. We still want to beat them."

Obviously, though, there's more on the minds of this team than beating the Rangers in an exhibition game.
