Mike Guentzel Joins Colorado College Hockey Staff 09/03/08

Mike Guentzel, 22-year veteran of coaching at the national select, junior A and NCAA Division I levels, has been named an assistant coach on the Colorado College staff, head coach Scott Owens announced today. He replaces Norm Bazin, who left the Tigers after eight seasons last month to become head coach at Division III Hamilton College.

CC assistant Bazin takes head coaching job at Hamilton 08/12/08

After eight successful seasons as an assistant coach at Colorado College, Norm Bazin is moving on. Bazin, who has helped Scott Owens and the Tigers claim three WCHA championships since joining the CC staff in 2000, has been named head coach at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y.

Alaska Anchorage hockey coach Dave Shyiak announced Thursday the addition of former Seawolf Reggie Simon to his staff as an assistant coach. Simon comes to UAA after a short stint as coach and general manager of the St. Louis Bandits of the North American Hockey League. He has extensive coaching experience in the junior ranks, beginning in 2002-2003 with the United States Hockey League's Tri-City Storm of Kearney, Neb.

Mannino Signs with New York Islanders 07/07/08

Former University of Denver goaltender Peter Mannino (Farmington Hills, Mich.) has signed a one year two-way free agent contract with the National Hockey League's New York Islanders. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Mannino is expected to make his professional debut next season for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.
