Crossovers – In Depth [Video]

The hockey crossover is an essential part of any hockey player’s skating arsenal. In this video, we break down the crossover into easy teaching points and give ideas on how to coach your players into using better technique.

We will continue to break down basic skating techniques over the course of the next few videos since many of you have emailed us asking for more power skating. ┬áIf you have suggestions on what you’d like to see in future videos, please let us know by emailing us or leaving a comment below.

Hi, like the crossover video. Could you do one for backward crossovers?

Always looking forward to your new video

Thanks

Hi Marc – a backward cross-over video is in the works. Might be a few weeks out, but we’re planning on one!

Thanks for watching!

OMG, toe snap?! How about adding rhythm to it. Three counts on the outside skate, three counts on the inside skate. Don’t you just hate those un-rhythmic, hoppy choppy crossovers? Keeping a good hockey stance and those shoulders parallel to the ice will get you into the new direction quicker, that’s for sure!
