Description
5 Man unit breaks out after dump in
Forwards Carry to neutral zone passes to coach at center
3 Forwards pivot to transition back into zone as 3 man offensive unit vs 2 defense
D man pivot just inside blue line.
Defense:
D1 retrieve puck - D2 with toes north reading pressure
Communicate: 1 - Winger, 2 - Center, 3 - Rush, 4 - D to D
Look for wall pass or chip high off the glass - No rimming the puck!
Take the ice they give you
Quick 5-10' ladder passes up the ice - Everybody moving feet & heads up
Forwards:
Low & Slow - Support the defense low in the zone
Quick 5-10' passes - Everybody moving feet & heads up
Options entering offensive zone:
Drive inside to create space on the outside
Take what the defense gives you
Drive wide with speed - No stick handling
Fight for good shooting position & drive net hard
Fire a low hard shot off the goalies far pad for a big rebound
Carry the puck low behind the goal line & tic tac toe
Carry the puck low around the net and pass to trailing F or D
Hard stop at low hash and hit trailing F
Add Forecheck when proficient
Full speed forecheck - Even if you have no chance of getting there
