Angling Contact Non-Check

Description

Prior to running drill discussion on difference between safe contact and checking. Nets and boarders are meant to separate kids until they get to contact "Tire Zone"
X's carry puck along boards. O's pursue. Both players go inside "Tire Zone. Contact can happen inside tire area.
Work on separating puck by burning out or going through hands.
No shoulder lowering.
Player receiving contact needs to maintain balance and expect contact.
Run at 1/4 speed then 1/2 speed. Early season do not run full speed.
