Players skate a simple pylon course which has them employing strong edgework to win a race for a puck. There are portions of straight-line skating and tight turns which allow players to use multiple edge work skills in the race for the puck. The player first to the puck gets to shoot on the net and if a player ends up behind they continue to battle to put pressure on the shooter. In some cases, players will be tied for the puck and they need to use body position and strong puck protection skills to get the shot on the net.
Notes: This race can be varied by modifying the skating course such as always skating on the outside. This will benefit different players depending on their edge work strengths.
