Coach chicks the puck on either side of the red line. Both X1 and O2 start from lines on either side of the coach. In the example, X1 would be the offensive player (as the puck is on their side) and their goal is to carry the puck down the ice for a shot on net. )2 is the defensive player and they simply want to angle players to the outside into a poor shooting position (i.e. outside the dots).
Notes: Use the stick to guide the puck carrier to the outside.
