Cycle with Support

Diagrams      Video

Description

Cycle Down Low:
F1 walks up along the wall. He has passing option to F3 in the "high" position. F2 reads trouble and calls for Cycle, and steps down along behind the net. F1 cycles back, then skates to the "high" position. F2 picks up puck and walks up along wall. F3 has dropped down to the net. Cycle can continue again with cycle back down low. Should only need to cycle 1 or 2 times before an opportunity to shoot the net occurs.

Cycle back up the wall:
F1 is carring puck towards the back of the net. F3 reads the pressure, and drops down, and calls for the cycle. F2 moves up to the "high" position and gets open for a pass. F1 continues around to be in the "net" position. F3 tries to find the high guy for a pass-and-shot.

Notes: Key concept is support. The man with the puck should have 2 passes available. Also, note the offensive triangle that is formed.

Have 3 forwards run the cycle and try and get the pass to the high forward for a shot or backdoor pass to the net man.
