Put 5 pucks below the goal line - preferably close to the dasher boards.
Each whistle is a "new puck".
Defense must play man to man - don't switch off.
On whistle X's must communicate (or coach identifies who gets the puck for younger ages). X leaves net front to get a puck and find pass to X3 in the slot. X3 is shooting. Let them battle it out. Next whistle X again leaves to get puck behind the net. The defender who was playing man to man vs X chases to try to disrupt X from making a play.
Play out 5 pucks.
X's can pick up the puck and move behind the net to create seperation from O to make good play.
Progression - allow X1 to find X2 OR X3 to make play to.
Allow O to cover X3 or X2 in front of the net.
Allow X3 to switch off with X1 or X2.
