The Big Z

Diagrams

Description

X1 and X2 start at same time, passing to O1 and O2. X1 and X2 continue to skate out past O1 and O2, "weave" between O1 and O3 (or O2 and O4) and out along the boards on the opposite side.

After receiving the pass, O1 (and O2) fire passes back and forth quickly with O3 (and O4) as many times as possible before X1 (and X2) reach outside boards, at which time whichever passer has the puck will pass to X1 and X2, who take the pass, and move in to shoot on net. X3 and X4 then start the drill again on whistle.

For a more difficult variation that keeps larger groups moving, also have passers coming from opposite corners at O5 and O6. Corners opposite each other start at same time (ie/ O6 same time as O5, then X1 same time as X2, repeat).
