Square Passing and Moving

Diagrams

Description

Players to be setup in 4 lines with pucks at the face-off dots above the blue-line and in the face-off dots in the offensive zone, creating a square.

Coach to be above the drill with additional "rescue" pucks should players lose the puck.

Drill starts with X1 passing up to X2, X1 to start skating towards X2 and then making a strong pass, X1 to continue skating until they are in X2's line. X2 to pass across and down to X3, X2 to do the same as X1, skate first then make a strong pass to X3 and follow their pass and get in X3's line. X3 will pass up to X4 (all actions similar to X2 and X1), X4 to pass down and across to next player in X1 line. Start slow and coach to encourage pushing the pace.
