This drill was created using HockeyShare.com's Online Drill Drawing & Practice Planning Platform.
Ds in two lines just outside of blue line: One just inside dot, the other in the middle of the ice.
Fs in two lines outside of the D lines.
C in between D lines with pucks.
On Go, C dumps puck into the corner, F1 goes to retrieve, D1 goes to defend F1 (or retrieve puck if faster.)
F2 Drives the net, D2 defends F2.
D3 and D4 enter zone and position themselves at the strongside point and high middle zone respectively.
F1 retrieves puck and players play 4v2.
Notes: Emphasize finding the open player quickly and getting the puck to the net.
If F2 is covered, outlet to D and D to D passes for shots on net with F2 ready for a rebound.
Follow your shots!
One possible change is if D1 gets the puck, then D1 and D2 are the attackers along with D3 and D4, with F1 and F2 now the defenders. Win the battle for the puck!!
