Islanders Breakout/Regroup/3-shot

Diagrams     

Description

Sequence 1
D1 skates to top of circle, pivots then retrieves puck form corner.
F2 supports by initially skating towards from of net, then backs up to the wall for B/O pass from D1.
F1 mirrors D1, and gets one-touch pass from F2.
F1 skates for shot on net.
After shot, F1 is in position for rebound on next shot
(D2, F3 & F4 running simultaneously from other end of ice)

Sequence 2
D1 (and D2) skate and pivot back at top of circle, then retrieve puck spotted by coach in corner.
D1 makes pass to F4 who is regrouping from opposite end.
F2 and F4 carry puck and shoot on net with F1 (and F3) rebounding.

Sequence 3
D1 (and D2) skate to far blueline for pass.
F2 (and F4) retrieve puck from corner and pass back to D.
D drags and shoots on net.
F1 (and F3) screening
F2 (and F4) skate towards net for rebound after they make pass to D.

Notes: Positioning for rebounds is important. Need to make sure the puck ends up in the net.
Always shoot to score.
In Sequence 2, the regrouping forwards need to time their skating and take as much ice as necessary to properly support the D-man making the pass to them.
