Pivot, Look Forehand

Drill Diagram

Description

The defenseman starts by skating backward from the face-off dot outside the blue line. A puck is then dumped in so that it lies close to the boards in the corner. The defenseman pivots to the outside and looks over both shoulders while maintaining speed. He must approach the from an angle so that it is on his forehand as he turns up ice with it, and he is not allowed to skate behind the net with it. He must skate at full speed with the puck as far as the face-off dot before passing to the next defenseman in line. Drill is run out of both corners.
