This is a 3-on-2 drill. The 3 offensive players are F1, F2 and F3. The goal is for F1 to beat D1 to the puck. The defence should be sufficiently high to allow for this to happen. The defence must start by skating backwards. F1, F2 and F3 should win control and need to score or take a shot. The defence needs to clear the puck from the zone. D2 needs to box out and be "annoying" in front of the net.

Notes: D should learn to shoulder check and F1 needs to do everything possible to be first to the puck. Insure that players pick up the puck on an angle. Also, focus the forwards to put pressure to give the best chance of keeping the puck in the zone. F2 needs to support F1 by reading what F1 or D1 does with the puck.
