Tough Passes Drill

Drill Diagram

Description

The coach for the first
line will pass to a player streaking up one side
of the boards and make the pass far enough
ahead so that it is tough to reach. This forces
the player to perform a ‘dead stick’ maneuver,
where they drop to one knee and reach forward
with their stick or just reach out with one hand.

In the second line, the coach will fire a pass into
the skates of the player and they need to control
the pass and get it to their stick so they can
make a play and head down the ice.

Notes: Passes aren’t always perfect, and
learning to control them all will help your team’s
overall puck control.

Tags: Often times a pass isn’t going to, be perfect. Players need to know, how to receive passes when they are bad.
