PP Plays

Drill Diagram

Description

Break up into two groups. Initially D play F where necessary. Defensive players turn stick upside down. In one end have half forwards with other half in opposite end (mix up righties and lefties where possible). First play is F give and go down low in an overload set up. 2nd is off the same F to F down low to start but instead of the give and go they go back to the D who goes D to D slide for a shot. Two forwards aim for the net. In the other end work plays 3 and 4 which are F on the half wall give and go play with D where the D slides across the blue line and the Forward curls off the wall and looks for dish pass back from the sliding D and in for a shot. Last play runs off the previous give and go between F on half wall and sliding D but instead of the forward shooting they look across ice and see their winger partner coming off other half boards and they slide it across. since the winger should be on opposite sides that winger should get away a quick shot.

Notes: Move to a few other options that run off these standard plays as well illustrate a set up in an umbrella formation 5 on 3 or set up behind net with Centerman (gretzky pp)
