Deep Corner Passing Options

Drill Diagram

Animation #1

Description

Passing and decision making drill. 2 Versions of this drill

Version 1
Set up as shown , all players stay behind lines and give players inside the zone space to move.
On whistle 1 red takes off with a puck skating around tires and behind net coming to a power stop in the corner facing out so they can have full vision of the ice.
While player with the puck is skating first player in blue line step into zone about 3 feet to keep the play in the zone.
Red player makes a wrap pass up the boards, bounce pass off the boards or direct pass hard and straight.
Once blue player has puck he does the same and drill keeps progressing .
Try to not lose puck and complete drill with 1 puck.

Version 2
Basically the same but we add defending players to block passing lanes.
Set up as shown with defending players standing at the tries until it is their turn to defend.
Defending player either cuts off the cross ice pass or the pass up the boards and the puck carrier must read the play and make correct decision.
Passing players replace defending players and defending players go to the back of closest line.

Notes: Can be done with orange pucks (recommended)
