Puck Placment in Small Areas

Drill Diagram

Description

X1 starts with a puck and skates the board side of the pylons to the far pylon and places a puck through the two pylons as a pass. They cut around the pylon quickly and receive their own pass. They skate to the top pylon (on the inside) and perform the same action (i.e. pass to themselves). They receive their pass again and make a quick pass to the coach and then skate through the two pylons where they will receive a quick pass back from the coach. They then take a quick shot on net.

Notes: Passing to themselves is about puck placement in small areas. They should not pass hard and put the puck into an open area they can skate into. They don't need to do this at 100% to start, they should go at a speed which allows them to control the puck in the small area. Turns should be tight and quick.
