High speed forechecking drill

Set up as shown and coach dumps puck in to start drill.
Orange players are on the offense and Blue players are on defense, Blue players can not move until puck crosses blue line.

Blue players try to break out while Orange players forecheck trying to score (3 vs 5)
Play continues until orange team scores, goalie freezes puck or coach blows whistle

If the Blue players succeed in breaking out they carry the puck over center ice and dump puck into opposing zone where the Blue players become offense and the Red players become the defense, again the Red players may not move until the puck crosses their blue line.

Again Red players try to breakout and become the offense

Notes: Flow is key and awareness is as well.

After players are used to the drill the D players can move up with the forechecking group and make it a 5 on 5
