Full ice defence versus forward race (version 2)

Drill Diagram

Description

The forward starts in the corner with a puck and the defence with an appropriate gap for the age level. The forward skates as fast as possible with the puck while the defence skates backwards. The forward cannot cut toward the net until the last pylon and the defence cannot pivot until that point as well. The starting gap can be closed in order to make the drill harder on the defence.

Notes: Players should leverage open ice carry on their backhand for maximum speed. Both the forwards and defence should leverage quick starts to gain an advantage.
