PP breakout with 1-3-1 set up

Drill Diagram

Description

First Diagram:
- PP breakout. Key points being creating options for moving the puck up ice as quick as possible.
- Options after initial pass are skate with it, pass across the ice to F1 or D2, pass up the ice, bump back to D who passed from behind the net. Get creative with this. The more repetitive our movements are the more teams will know what we're doing.
- F2 and F3 need to read the play and cut across when the play is breaking out. The idea is to draw the opposing teams D with you to create open ice for those who have the puck.
Second diagram:
- 1-3-1 Umbrella setup
- Possession is the key with this. Most teams will do a box setup, which means they will not be chasing the F1, D2 and D1 around the ice.
- Keep the puck wide as much as possible, quick passes, to whoever is open, do not force any pass, and if they give you the lane take the shot. - F2 and F3 are there to screen and get a quick shot/rebound.
