1. on whistle, one forward from each corner in one end leaves and skates straight up ice, one of the forwards carries a puck
2. backchecker chases the forward who doesn't have the puck
3. defenseman steps out and plays the 2 on 1
4. have players play out 2 on 1 until goal is scored, G covers or defense gains possession
5. player who backchecked turns to one corner or the other and starts out on a 2 - 0. Forward in opposite corner becomes backchecker and D joins mid ice to make it a 2 - 1.
