Timing Caper

Drill Diagram

Description

X1 will start drill by skating without puck deep into zone, opposite corner and pivot out, presenting X2 with a "target". X2 leaves with a puck, curling opposite to X1, and gives a pass to X1 when they reach the boards. At this time, X3 has left along boards out to center, and turns back in towards zone. X1 will give a stretch pass out to X3 staying on-side. X3 continues and shoots on goal.
X1, after giving the stretch pass, curls back in to original zone and picks up a puck near X1 start point, goes in and shoots on goal. X2 continues forward and gets puck from opposite blue line and shoots.

X1 will move to X2 line, X2 to X3 line, and X3 to X1 line, after shooting.

This is a continuous flow drill... Second person in line at X1 leaves when the previous X1 player has curled back and taken puck near X1 starting point.

Notes: We sometimes move the pucks to opposite sides in order to recreate the flow of the drill in the other directions.

Great drill for Pee Wee players and up.
