Backwards Skating Lightning Drill

Description

First player in each line will start in the backwards position and skate to the closest blue line back wards with proper c-cuts. Once at the blue line players will transition from back wards to forwards and skate to the cone as illustrated. Once at the cone players will then transition again from forwards to backwards skating and skate back wards the length of the ice to far goal line. Players should stay in their lane and keep head up and do shoulder checks.

Notes: Can progress to do same drill with Pucks

Tags: Proper balance, weight not to far forward, not to far back on heels. Proper c-cuts. Good transition from Backwards to forward and vice versa. Head up not looking at feet.
