Description

STATION 1

Objective: Stick Handling and Team Passing

X1 carries puck in, makes move around attack pylon, shoots. After shot, he/she curls and receives pass from Coach.

X2, in parallel, skates up ice and receives pass from X1. X1 receives pass back and skates around face off dot. After he/she makes turn around face off dot, he/she makes pass up to X2 who times the play. X2 goes up ice and shoots.

Players rotate at end of each drill.

STATION 2

Objective: Purpose of this 2-1 battle is for forwards to find best passing lane for a pass and defender to cover appropriate gap at all times.

2-1 Battle for 20-30 seconds or until Forwards score or Defense gains possession of puck. If this drill ends quickly, Coach sends another puck into continue drill

STATION 3

Objective: Introductory Cycle Drill to show players how to support puck up the wall.

Coach sends puck into corner, O1 circles around net to retrieve puck. In parallel, O2 circles in front of net and follows O1 up the wall. O1 drops puck off the boards, as shown, to O2. O2 picks up puck while O1 skates around circle and receives pass back from O2. O2 goes in for shot.

O1 and O2 switch every turn.
