- D man picks up puck and decides ahead of time which direction to take it (strong side or weak side)
- D man makes crisp first pass to waiting winger on boards
- RW starts up boards with puck and passes to breaking Centerman
- LW curls with play in D-zone and breaks up ice with centerman but stays wide one lane
- 3 on 2 going back the other way
- Man with puck (F1) drives wide in O-zone
- Second man in O-zone (F2) drives hard to net for tip or rebound on shot or pass from F1
- F3 drives into high slot ready for delay around net or delay up strong side boards and pass
- Attacking D men drop into position in high O-zone in case of pass back to D for shot on goal
