Perpetual Power Play and Penalty Kill

Drill Diagram

Description

Puck is placed at centre ice.
5 offensive skaters(green at the beginning)start at centre ice.
5 defenders at each end, with one forward removed to simulate being short handed.
Puck is carried in by one of the green forwards executing the power play.
Defenders execute the penalty kill.
Play continues until defending unit clears the puck over the blue line or until the offensive unit scores.
If defending unit clears the defensive zone the offensive unit peels off as soon as puck crosses blue line. After clearing the defensive zone the defenders, including the removed forward, are the NEW offensive unit at the other end with the removed forward being the puck carrier.
If the offensive unit scores, coach blows two quick whistles to kill the play and places a puck at centre ice. Defending team hustles to centre ice to become the NEW offensive unit, including removed forward.

DRILL IS CONTINUOUS
