Drill Diagram

Description

Defense splits into two groups in opposite corners;
Forwards split into two groups at center ice facing one of the corners;

The drill starts with the first defense in each line skating forwards towards the cone at the blue line;
The defense pivots from forewards to backwards around the cone and receives a pass from the first forward in line; The defense then skates backwards with the puck several strides;
The defense then pivots from backwards to forwards with the puck and skates forwards with the puck several strides;
The defense then makes a pass towards the boards to the foreward breaking down the wing;
After making the pass to the defense, the forward skates around the lower cone and makes a transition turn facing the play, timing the turn and getting ready to receive a pass from the defence;
The forward receives the pass from the defence, continues skating down the ice with the puck and then drives to the net on a 1v1 situation with the defense from the other end;
After making the pass to the forward, the defense skates forward across the ice, pivots from forwards to backwards skating at the face-off dot and receives the forward from the other end in a 1v1 situation.

Notes: Total duration = 10 minutes

5 minutes on one side of the ice and then switch sides
