1/2 Ice Race-Battle-Pass (F1, F2 and D1)

Drill Diagram

Description

Coach dumps/spots puck near boards. X1 vs O1 to RACE where O1's goal is to be F1 and X1's goal is to be D1. O1 wants to win POSSESSION of the puck and DEFEND IT/CONTROL IT on the boards. A third player designated as F2 moves to support F1. D1 wants to fight for possession and hold the puck in place as long as possible. Ideally, F1 gets the puck to F2 and F2 skates out of the zone and makes a pass to the coach. The drill starts on the coach's whistle and ends on the coach's whistle.

Notes: The coach can move into an F3 position and a natural progression is that this becomes a player.
