Building Your Lineup Sheet: Blocks, Layout & Theme

A lineup sheet is made of blocks you place on the page. Templates give you a good start, and you can add, move, resize or restyle anything.

The Add tab

The Add tab on the left lists everything you can put on the page. Click an item to add it, or drag it onto the page.

Lineup blocks fill in from your roster:

  • Forwards – a 3-wide grid of forward lines.
  • Defense – a 2-wide grid of pairs.
  • Goalies – a list of three goalies.
  • Position group – any position, set up your own way.
  • Game header, Staff, Not dressed, Officials, Pronunciations, Team stats and Leaders. See Game Header, Staff, Officials & Stats.

Layout items are for everything else: Header bar, Text, Table, Logo, Image, Box and Divider.

Block settings

Click a block to see its settings on the right. For a forwards, defense or goalie block:

  • Position – which players this block is for (for example Center or Defense). Filters the Roster tab and Auto-fill.
  • Layout – List (one player per row) or Grid (lines across). With Grid, use Rows to add or remove lines and Columns to set how many across.
  • Slots – how many rows a list has.
  • Density – Compact, Normal or Roomy.
  • Auto height – grows the block to fit its players.
  • Print blank rows – prints empty rows so you can write in names.

What each player card shows

Under Card style → Show on each card, turn details on or off for the whole block: Number, Name, Position, Class / year, Height, Weight, Shoots, Birthdate, Hometown, Previous team, Season stats, Career stats, Pronunciation, C / A badge and Commitment.

You can also set the number and name sizes, the Name style (First Last, Last, First or F. Last), Uppercase names, Show headshots and Birthdate format.

Team colours

Click an empty part of the page to see the Sheet theme. Pick a preset like Navy & maize or Red & black, or set Primary, Secondary, Accent, Text and Muted yourself. Header bars, numbers and rules update together.

Pages and page setup

  • Use the page tabs above the sheet to switch between pages. Click + to add one (up to 4 pages).
  • Click the page button at the top (for example Letter · Portrait · 3 col) to open Page setup: Paper, Orientation, Column guides, Roster source, Game and Stats season. Click Apply.

Moving and sizing

  • Drag a block to move it. Drag its edges to resize it. Blocks snap to the column guides and grid; hold Alt to place freely.
  • For exact sizes, open Position & size at the bottom of the settings.
  • Use the layer buttons to bring an item forward or send it back, and the lock to stop it moving.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • Arrow keys – nudge (hold Shift to move further).
  • Delete – remove the selected item.
  • ⌘/Ctrl + D – duplicate.
  • ⌘/Ctrl + C / V – copy and paste, even between lineups.
  • ⌘/Ctrl + Z – undo; ⇧⌘Z or Ctrl + Y – redo.
  • ⌘/Ctrl + S – save now.

Saving

Your lineup saves automatically. The label at the top shows Saved, Saving… or Unsaved changes. If you edit the same lineup in two windows, you'll be asked whether to Reload the newer version or Overwrite it with what you see.

Tips

  • Keep one sheet per page size and theme you like, and duplicate it for each game.
  • Undo history is kept until you leave the editor, so experiment freely.
  • Editing works on a phone or tablet, but a laptop or desktop is much easier.
