# Placing Players: Roster Tab, Auto-fill & Write-ins

Once your lineup is linked to a team or saved roster, placing players takes a few clicks. You can still change any detail for one sheet without touching the roster.

## Step 1 — Open the Roster tab

Click a forwards, defense or goalie block, then open the **Roster** tab on the left. You'll see your players, filtered to that block's position.

- Use the chips (**All**, **F**, **LW**, **C**, **RW**, **D**, **G**) or the search box to find a player.
- Players already on the sheet are hidden. Click **Show placed** to see them.
- Switch to **Staff** for coaches and trainers.

If the tab says **Link a team or roster**, the sheet isn't linked yet. Click it to choose one.

## Step 2 — Place players

- **Click a player** to drop them into the next open slot of the selected block.
- **Drag a player** onto any block.
- **Auto-fill** fills every open slot in the block with the next players who match.
- **Fill from roster** (in the block settings) does the same thing from the right side.

On the **Not dressed** block, **Add everyone not placed** lists every player who isn't in the lineup.

## Step 3 — Change details for this sheet only

Click the block, then click a player's card to edit it. The roster value shows in grey in each field. Type over it to change it on this sheet only; your team or saved roster doesn't change.

- **↺** next to a field puts the roster value back.
- **Reset all to roster** undoes every change on that card.
- **Unlink (keep text)** keeps what's on the card but stops it updating from the roster.
- **Empty slot** clears the player; **Remove slot** deletes the row.

## Write-in players

For a call-up, guest or anyone not on your roster, click **Write-in player** (or **Write-in staff**) at the bottom of the Roster tab, fill in the details and click **Add to sheet**.

## Moving players around

- Drag a player to another slot or block.
- With a slot selected, **Alt + ↑/↓** moves it up or down.
- **Delete** empties a slot; press it again to remove the slot.

## "Not on roster"

If a player was removed from your team or saved roster, their card shows **Not on roster**. Assign someone else, or type the details in yourself to keep them as a write-in.

## Tips

- Set the block's **Position** first. Auto-fill then picks only the right players.
- Changed the team in another tab? Click the refresh button at the top of the Roster tab to pull in the changes.
- Changing the roster source in **Page setup** unlinks every player on the sheet (typed details stay). Use **Auto-fill** to place them again.
