Invite your assistant coaches to work on a playbook with you, so your whole staff builds and teaches the same systems. Collaboration is a Premium feature: you need a Premium account to invite, and the coaches you invite need one to accept.
Step 1 — Invite a coach
Open the playbook in the builder, click Playbook Settings and scroll to Collaborators.
- Enter the coach's HockeyShare username under Invite by username.
- Choose View or Edit.
- Click Invite.
The invitation shows as Pending until the coach accepts.
What each permission allows
- View – they can open, present and download the playbook as a PDF.
- Edit – they can also change its content and settings. Only you can manage its tags and Team Share.
Step 2 — The coach accepts
The coach gets a HockeyShare notification, and an email if they have collaboration emails turned on. The invitation also appears at the top of their My Playbooks page with Accept and Decline.
Once accepted, the playbook is listed under Shared with me in their My Playbooks, with Can view or Can edit next to it.
Editing at the same time
Two coaches can have the builder open at once.
- A banner shows who else is editing right now.
- If a collaborator saves while you have no unsaved changes, your builder updates with their changes automatically.
- If they save while you have unsaved changes, a banner asks you to Reload to get the latest version before saving. Talk to each other before you save, or one of you may overwrite the other.
Removing a collaborator
In Collaborators, click Remove next to a coach, or Cancel next to a pending invitation. A collaborator can step away on their own with Leave this shared playbook.
Good to Know
- Managers of a team the playbook is attached to can edit it too, without an invitation. See Playbooks & Your Teams.
- Collaborators with Edit access skip the playbook's password and expiration date.
Tips
- Give Edit to the coaches who build systems with you and View to the rest of your staff.
- Decide who owns each section before a busy week, so two coaches aren't editing the same part at once.
- When a coach leaves your staff, remove them so the playbook stays yours.
