Playbooks FAQ & Troubleshooting

Quick answers to the most common playbook questions.

Creating playbooks

Why can't I create another playbook?

Free accounts can have one playbook. Premium accounts can create as many as they need. Playbooks in the Trash don't count.

I deleted my playbook. Can I get it back?

Yes, for 30 days. Open My Playbooks → Trash and click Restore. A restored playbook counts toward your limit again, so on a Free account you may need to delete your other playbook first. See Recovering Deleted Playbooks.

Sharing

My players say the link doesn't work.

Check three things in Playbook Settings: Playbook Visibility is Public, the Link expiration date hasn't passed, and you gave them the password if one is set. See Sharing a Playbook.

The page says "Share Link Expired."

The playbook's expiration date has passed. Open Playbook Settings, then change or Clear the Link expiration date.

The password isn't working.

Passwords are case-sensitive. After 5 wrong tries, the page makes you wait 5 minutes before trying again. If it still doesn't work, set a new password in Playbook Settings.

My playbook isn't on my team page.

Make sure the team's Enable Public Team Page setting is on, the playbook is attached to that team, and Show on team page is turned on in Playbook Settings → Teams. Playbooks in the Trash or with an expired link aren't listed. See Playbooks & Your Teams.

The email with my playbook didn't arrive.

Ask the recipient to check their spam folder. See Email Delivery Troubleshooting.

Collaborating

I can't invite another coach.

Inviting needs a Premium account. Use the coach's HockeyShare username, not their email address. If you see "This user needs Premium to accept," the coach needs a Premium account before they can join.

Why can my assistant coach edit my playbook? I never invited them.

Managers of a team the playbook is attached to can edit it. Detach the team in Playbook Settings → Teams if that's not what you want.

Video and PDF

A clip says "No longer available."

The clip was deleted, is still processing, or was removed from your Clips library. Video Clip blocks also stop playing if the playbook owner's Premium account ends. See Adding Video to a Playbook.

Videos don't play in my PDF.

PDFs can't play video, so video blocks show a still image. Send players the share link to watch them.
