You can share any playbook with a link. Players and parents don't need a HockeyShare account to open it. Add a password to keep it private, and an expiration date so it stops working when the season ends.
Step 1 — Make the playbook public
Open the playbook in the builder and click Playbook Settings. Under Playbook Visibility, choose Public.
- Private – only you, your collaborators and the teams it's attached to can open it.
- Public – anyone with the link can view it.
Step 2 — Add a password (optional)
Check Require password to view and enter a password. Viewers see a Password Required page and enter it once per visit. Don't use your HockeyShare account password; you'll be giving this one to your team.
Step 3 — Set an expiration date (optional)
Pick a Link expiration date. The link works through the end of that day, then viewers see a Share Link Expired page. Click Clear to remove the date. Leave it blank for no expiration.
Step 4 — Copy the link
Copy the Public Playbook URL with the Copy button. You can also click Share on the playbook's page, or Copy Link from the ⋯ menu in My Playbooks.
Emailing a playbook
Emailing is a Premium feature. In My Playbooks, open the ⋯ menu on a playbook and choose Email. Add recipients by typing addresses or picking a saved email list, add an optional message, and click Send.
- Recipients get the playbook's share link.
- If the playbook is private, sending makes it public.
- If the playbook has a password, the email tells recipients you'll give it to them.
- You can't email a playbook whose link has expired. Change or clear the date first.
What viewers see
- No password – the playbook opens right away.
- Password – a Password Required page, then the playbook.
- Expired – a Share Link Expired page asking them to contact the team.
You, your collaborators with edit access and managers of attached teams always skip the password and expiration date.
Tips
- Set the expiration date to the end of your season, so last season's systems don't stay online.
- Send the password separately from the link, e.g. link by email and password in your team chat.
- Need to share many playbooks at once? Select them in My Playbooks and use the bulk Sharing actions to make them public, set an expiration date or copy all their links.
- Want your players to find every playbook in one place? See Playbooks & Your Teams.
