Adding Video Clips to Plans

Adding Video Clips to Plans

Add video clips from your Clips library to a practice plan. Players and coaches can watch the clip right from the plan, which saves explaining a drill on the ice.

Clips are a Premium feature.

Add a Clip in the Plan Builder

Open your plan in the Plan Builder. In the left sidebar, open Clips.

  • Use Search my clips to find a clip by name.
  • Your Playlists are listed below your clips.

Click a clip or playlist to add it to your plan.

Set the Time & Add a Note

A clip shows in your drill list with a CLIP label. Like a drill, you can:

  • Set the minutes to block off time for watching it.
  • Add Notes, such as when to show it or what to watch for.
  • Drag it to where it fits in your practice.

Watch a Clip from the Plan

On the plan page, each clip shows as a Video Clip with its length and a Play button. Click Play to watch it without leaving the plan.

Anyone who can see the plan can play its clips, including people you share the plan with by link.

Drill Videos & Animations

If a drill in your plan has a video link or an animation, the plan shows a Video or Animation link with it. These links also appear on the printed plan and PDF.

Good to Know

  • Clips stay in your Clips library. The plan links to them and doesn't make a copy.
  • If you delete a clip that's in a plan, the plan shows it as No longer available.
  • When you send a plan to another coach, their copy points to your clips. If they don't have access to a clip, it shows as unavailable in their copy.

Tips

  • Keep clips short. A 10–30 second clip is easier to watch on the bench or in the locker room.
  • Use a playlist when you want to show several clips back to back.
  • Add a 1–2 minute block for video so your plan's total time stays accurate.
