Password vs Member Access & Activity

Password vs Member Access & Activity

Your team page can be opened with one shared password, or only by members you invite. Member Access and Activity insights are Premium features.

The two access modes

Go to Team Sharing → Access.

  • Password – anyone with the link and the password can view. No account needed. Simple, but you can't see who's viewing, and anyone who gets the password can get in.
  • Member access (Premium) – each player or parent signs in with their own free HockeyShare account. There's no shared password, and you can remove anyone at any time.

Switching modes

When you switch to Member access, the shared password stops working right away. Only invited members and you can open the page. Next, invite your team: see Inviting Players & Parents.

When you switch back to Password, members lose their personal access and everyone needs the password again. Your member list and password are both kept, so you can switch back later.

Activity

Click Activity on the Team Sharing page to see what your team is opening.

  • Total clicks and the last activity time
  • Resources opened – how many shared items were opened
  • Viewers – how many members opened something
  • Most opened – which type of content gets the most use

The Resources tab lists each shared item with its clicks, viewers, and first and last opened dates. With Member access, the Members tab shows each member and whether they've opened anything yet.

In Password mode, clicks are counted but names aren't available, because viewers don't sign in.

Good to Know

  • Free accounts can still see the Activity page. Clicks are counted from the start, so the history is there when you upgrade.
  • If your Premium plan ends, Member access keeps working for your current members. You can't send new invites until you upgrade again.

Tips

  • Use Member access for older teams where passwords tend to get passed around.
  • Check the Members tab before a big game to see who hasn't looked at the game plan.
