# Vault Defaults

Vault Defaults sets how the Vault looks and what new items start with. Go to **Vault → More → Defaults**.

## Display

- **View** – **List** or **Grid**. The view buttons in the Vault toolbar change this too.
- **Default sort** – how items are ordered when you open the Vault.
- **Items per page** – 20, 40, 60 or 100.

## New content

These are filled in on **Add Content** and **Quick Add**. You can still change them for each item.

- **Privacy** – **Private** or **Share link on**.
- **Team Share new items** – show new items on your Team Share page. This also turns on their share link.
- **Default folder** – where new items go when you add them from outside a folder.
- **Share with associations by default** – shown if you're in an association. New items are shared with the associations you tick.

Click **Save defaults**. Click **Reset to defaults** to go back to the standard settings.

## Tips

- If most of what you add is for your team, set **Team Share new items** on and turn it off for the odd private item.
- Set a **Default folder** like "Inbox" or "To sort" so new items don't clutter your main view.
