Defensive Zone Protect - Triangle

Description

Basic Defensive zone triangle protect
1. Puck in the corner:
- RD pressures the puck. C supports the puck battle and picks up any loose pucks that may come out. Also closes the time and space to X1 for a pass or a drive to the net.
- F2 primary responsible is to cover D1. Stay in middle between the puck and D. If X2 gains possession C1 & F2 can close the passing lane to X1 or D1 or a drive to the net. (read and react).
- F3 is positioned in the high slot with his head on a pivot watching the D at the point or backdoor, puck position and support in the slot if needed.
- LD protects the house

Notes: Demonstrate both sides.
