Description

Off the boards and around drill
1) Forward skates along boards with puck.
2) Defender skates backwards from pylon and angles player with puck towards boards.
3) Forward tries bank pass to themselves off boards to get around defender.
4) Defender tries to steal puck with stick check while angling forward.
5) Players switch lines each time they repeat drill.

Angling drill
1) Forward and Defender skate to first pylon, stop and return to goal line.
2) Same Forward and Defender skate to second pylon, stop and return to goal line.
3) Same Forward and Defender skate around their respective pylon, where Forward picks up puck and drives to the net, while Defender tries to angle forward away from net and takes away puck with stick check.
4) Start next pair once shot is complete.

Note: Both drills should be demoed before starting so players understand. Two coaches required for each station.
