F>D>D>F Continuous Passing / Backdoor Decisions

Diagrams

Description

Blue F1 starts drill by pursuing a coach and separating puck from coach and passing immediately back to Purple D1 tape to tape and then finding way into near slot. Purple D1 passes to Orange D2. Orange D2 passes back to F1. F1 either shoots or passes to F2 for backdoor shot. After play is done F2 then goes in motion and starts drill again. Defense rotate D1 to D2 spot and next D player in line to D1 spot. F1 and D2 are back in line. Goalie should be ready for F1 or F2 to shoot in all circumstances using good angling and technique. Progressions force F1 or D to make decisions.

Notes: Progression 1: As drawn
Progression 2: F1 > D1 > D2 > F2 > F1
Progression 3 (not shown): Coach remains in play as defense, force decisions on D to F to pick open player
Progression 4: Additional coach enters play, force F1 decisions on point pass to open D
Optionally with more advanced teams have players take the coach spots if enough players.
