Agility and Handling Course 4

Diagrams

Description

This drill is for working on puck placement and placing the puck into an open area where the player receives their pass. It is meant to be done with control before advancing speed. X1 skates with the puck and places the puck through the first gate and picks up their pass while in motion (by going around the gate). They repeat this through each gate paying close attention to the placement and puck control to allow them to corner around the gates and maintain motion and direction. The course has six gate placements which are: (1) top left (2) middle (3) top right (4) middle (5) top left (6) bottom left. Once completing the last gate the player gets to the middle of the ice for a shot on the net.

Notes: There are a few variations of this drill which allow for the middle skate to be skipped so that the player can build up speed around the gates closest to the blueline.
