Continuous Backchecking

Diagrams

Description

This is a continuous backchecking drill which alternates from side to side. X's start with the puck and make passes across the ice together. They make a 2-on-0 play at the other end and then have to touch the posts of the net with their stick before they convert to backcheckers. As soon as the first player touches the post the two O players can perform passing going in the opposite direction with the X's backchecking.

Notes: Encourage players to close the passing gap but cutting towards the middle in front of the backcheckers. Don't allow cheating.
