High-Low Half-Ice Skating-Puck Control-Shooting

Diagrams

Description

On the whistle, one line of players skates TOP SPEED WITH PUCK through a far (high) set of three cones, while the other line of players skates TOP SPEED WITH PUCK through a near (low) set of three cones. Both cut in after the last cone and SHOOT IN MOTION above the dots to score.

Variation 1: you can send the second player in line as a "chaser" who is just skating the same pattern with no puck - coaches adjust stagger but start by sending when the puck carrier gets to the blue line.

Variation 2: send players in groups of three from each side where the first skater shoots the puck and stays for a screen. The second skater with the puck shoots through the screen and then joins the first player as a screener. The third player skates with a puck and shoots through the two screeners and they all pick up any rebounds.
