Description
Positioning and defensive hustle are key to this drill
Line up and start on whistle, X players pick up a puck and skate completely around both tires 1 revolution.
O players are the defensive players and skate between the tires pivoting backwards so they can keep their eye on the puck carrier.
Defending player goes between the tires a second time still with their eyes on puck carrier.
Defenders positions should be to force the puck carrier to the boards and pinching them off but always keeping their body between the puck carrier and the net.
This drill is done successfully if the defending player prevents a shot from taking place.
Drill ends on whistle and starts again on second whistle
