2 Versus 1 Continuous Regroup

Diagrams

Description

F1 leaves with the puck on whistle and skates into the neutral zone. D1 skates backwards in a regroup fashion with the stick in front ready for pass from F1. F1 makes a clean pass to D1 who continues to regroup as F1 and F2 cross and change lanes. D2 gaps up while the pass is happening. D1 makes a pass to F1 or F2. Then F1 and F2 enter 2 on 1 versus D2. While this is happening D1 turns and skates around the net to be the next D for the 2 on 1 in the other direction.

Notes: The defence needs to give a target and the forwards need to make clean passes. The defence should make a quick decision. It is better to place the puck into open space in front of the forwards than behind them.
