Alaska Pivot Escape Skills

Description

D gaps up to coach every time.

1. Receive pass from coach while back-pedalling. Once D gets the puck, pivot forward. Get feet moving up ice before making pass. Get back up to coach, pivot (other way), and do the same thing. Receive the pass while back-pedalling, pivot other way, get feet moving up ice and make pass to coach.

2. Same start as previous. Receive pass and make escape move. Get feet moving up ice and pass to coach. Repeat other side.

3. Same start as previous. This time coach is going to flip back to D. Catch, drop, pivot, and get feet moving up ice before making pass to coach. Repeat other direction.

4. Same start as previous. Coach is going to pass their feet. Control puck, pivot, and get feet moving up ice. Repeat other side.

Notes: Make sure they are concentrating on foot work and doing each sequence properly.
