Description
2 Lines, Forwards and Defense
Coach dumps puck in corner, D skates backwards to the faceoff dot pivots and skates to retrieve puck. Once D pivots first forward in line skates hard to the far boards to provide the wing option for the D, the 2nd forward makes a deep turn closure to the middle of the ice to give the center option. D skates around net and chooses winger or center, if puck is passed to winger then winger can chip around coach or directly pass to center (middle).
Center takes puck down ice for a shot on net. Winger trails for rebound. Defense pivots around a pylon near center ice to turn the break out into a 2 on 1. Players play the 2 on 1 until a goal is scored, the goalie covers the puck or the puck goes out of play.
Run both sides of the ice at the same time and have players go on the whistle.
Switch sides halfway through drill.
